Field interview
It was a nightmare, Thandi. When the month-end rush hit Jakes Gerwel Drive, my permanent staff were overwhelmed. Customers were abandoning full trolleys because the queues were just too long. I couldn't hire more full-time staff for the quiet weeks, so I was stuck losing money.

Field interview
Beating the Epping Rush
Thandi spoke with Mohammed after a JobZapp booking in the Northern Suburbs, recorded 11 Jun 2026.
Thandi · interviewer
I’m here in Epping 1 with Mohammed, who manages a busy factory outlet near the Cape Town Market. Mohammed, you used to struggle with massive month-end queues. How bad was it?
Mohammed
It was a nightmare, Thandi. When the month-end rush hit Jakes Gerwel Drive, my permanent staff were overwhelmed. Customers were abandoning full trolleys because the queues were just too long. I couldn't hire more full-time staff for the quiet weeks, so I was stuck losing money.
Thandi · interviewer
How did JobZapp change that?
Mohammed
The on-demand model saved us. Now I request cashiers for five-hour windows during peak times, vetted people who can step in when foot traffic spikes.
Thandi · interviewer
And the results?
Mohammed
No more bottlenecks. My overheads stay lean, but my service stays fast. Every Client now gets professional service without the wait. It’s the smartest move I’ve made for our efficiency.
